Welcome to the Washington Area Rugby Touring Side (WARTS)

The mission of the WARTS is to provide opportunities for senior, or veteran, rugby players to travel and play at a competitive level on a variety of Old Boys, Masters and Social sides at tournaments, or on tours, across the country and around the world. The group is dedicated to players over 35; in age groups through 55 and over. We plan to make up touring sides to various locations, including Ft. Lauderdale and Saranac Lake, among others. The WARTS’ name has been used on occasion by Washington area rugby touring sides in the 1990 and 2000s and we plan to keep up the WARTS tradition of competitive rugby along with the traditional social aspects of a good rugby tour. The WARTS pool of players can also be accessed by local teams that want to travel to a tournament but need players to fill out their side.

Joining the WARTS is an opportunity to be part of a pool of local players interested in traveling to old boy tournaments. The WARTS hope to start a winning tradition based on Washington area rugby players.

If you would like to be part of the WARTS, please contact contactWARTS@WARTSRugby.org and/or sign up for news on upcoming events by joining the WARTS Google group.
